Description

Number 13, distilled on the 11th of August 2003 and bottled 14 years later after maturing in single European oak sherry butt at 60.0%.

With the Exceptional Cask series being revivified in 2017, Macallan Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess and Master Distiller Bob Dalgarno have put their stamp on the new Macallan distillery, suggesting that maybe a new golden era of Macallan is just around the corner.

Candied banana and bitter citrus layer on top of waxy florals and a distinct mustiness that makes this malt stand apart. Blood oranges and spice play together with a scattering of sesame and honeyed fruits. Grapefruit zest with orange blossom weigh down on the finish, resulting in a wonderfully refreshing dram.
