Bottled in 2000 by hand at the Macallan distillery, the Gran Reservas showcase the delicate balance between two juggernauts of flavour: oily malt whisky and Oloroso sherry.
The Macallan Gran Reserva 1981 has become increasingly rare, as the 1979 and 1980 vintages were usually saved and the 1981 and 1982 were widely consumed, meaning that today, the 1981 and 1982 bottles are harder and harder to find. A mainstay in any collection.
